A rechargeable lithium-ion battery (included) provides more power and longer playing time than most other rechargeable batteries. The rotating dock disappears for storage and protection during transit. And a moulded handle makes it easy to carry the system from place to place.

Just dock and play all iPod® models featuring a click wheel, including all nano, mini, photo, and video models. The system also plays music from your iPhone™.* The iPod® charges as it plays for uninterrupted music enjoyment. A custom remote easily controls the system and basic iPod® functions. The original Bose SoundDock was the iPod accessory of choice for those who didn't mind paying a bit extra for stylish looks and stunning sound performance and the latest model adds portability to that list.
The incredibly well built and reassuringly weighty design hasn't changed and features the same single unit with speakers encased in a metal grille and a retractable, rotating docking drawer that accommodates a full range of iPod designs. There's also a 3.5mm line-in to support alternative devices - but no video connections for viewing your movies or photos.

The difference is a large and powerful battery pack that means you can carry the system on the move using a handle at the rear. It is one of the easiest devices to carry around and offers the best sound quality available for any docking station on the market at the moment.

The system operates using a small remote unit and also through touch-sensitive controls on the side of the system at times. It's an incredibly powerful system that doesn't flinch in the face of high volumes and never seems to lose composure. Low frequencies are tightly controlled and free of distortion while high-end frequencies are delivered with plenty of clarity and precision. This produces a lively and exciting sound stage with decent timing that will have your toes a-tapping in no time.

The forward nature of the system can leave some tracks sounding slightly too bright but it's a far better alternative than drowning out subtleties with overbearing bass, as some less expensive models seem to do.

Bose's SoundDock is stylishly elegant and sounds superb and new portable features make it the must have docking station for your iPod.
