TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE
The following terms and conditions apply to all transactions on the TV & Video Direct website. The use of this site indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions. The placement of an order indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully and print a copy for future reference.

General
These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights. To order goods through this website you must be at least 18 years of age and accept delivery within the UK. We will treat each order for goods as an offer by you to purchase the goods subject to these terms and conditions.

Description of Goods
All the products we sell are of a technical nature and it is not practical to publish detailed specifications of all the products. All images, descriptive matter, specifications and advertising on our site are for the sole purpose of giving an approximate description of the goods. Full detailed specifications are available from the manufacturer's brochures or their websites.

Payment and Price
The total price payable for the goods will be stipulated at the time when you place your order. We are entitled to make adjustments to the price to take account of any increase in our supplier's prices, or the imposition of any taxes or duties, or if due to an error or omission the price published for the goods is wrong. We will inform you of the correct price and give you the opportunity to cancel the order. All prices on our website are inclusive of VAT but exclusive of delivery charges which will be payable as indicated at the time of placing your order.

Payment Methods
We accept most major credit and debit cards including Visa, MasterCard and Switch, we do not accept American Express. On the order you must provide us with your exact billing address and telephone number - the address and phone number your credit card bank has on file for you. We may also ask you for further identification, a utility bill, bank statement, credit card statement etc. Incorrect information will cause a delay in processing your order. Your order will only be processed once authorisation of your credit card has been properly received. You may also pay by cheque or postal order although we cannot despatch the goods until payment has been cleared which can take at least 10 days.

Availability of Goods
All products and services are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. If we do not supply the goods for any reason we will not charge you for these and we will refund any money already paid for them.

Delivery Charges
All prices on our website are exclusive of delivery charges which will be added to the price of the products at our checkout. Delivery prices quoted are for most UK Mainland addresses. Others are available on application.

Delivery Times
Delivery of products (stock items) will normally be made within 1-5 working days from clearance of payment. We will endeavour to deliver goods within the times stated but goods are subject to availability and delay in delivery of goods is sometimes outside our control. Any dates we specify for the delivery of the goods are approximate only. *Please Note* If any special deliveries or arranged delivery dates do not take place due to an act of god (adverse weather etc) we will not be held responsible and any delivery costs will not be refunded.

Risk
As soon as we have delivered the goods to your door you will be responsible for them. We will only deliver goods to the address on the order and goods will not be left without a signature. From the time of receipted delivery of the goods, any loss or damage to the goods shall be at your own risk. Any transit damage to the goods, shortages or in-correct goods supplied, if practical we ask customers to write this on the delivery consignment note at the time of delivery.

IMPORTANT NOTICE! On acceptance of your delivery, if you are unable to check the contents of the package please sign the delivery note UNCHECKED!

Time Limitation for Notification of Claims
Damage in transit: If goods arrive in a damaged condition, if practical we ask customers to write this on the delivery consignment note at the time of delivery and inform us at the earliest opportunity.
Shortages: You will be asked to sign a consignment note to confirm that you have received the same number of packages as stated on the consignment note. If packages are missing then please write this on the consignment note at the time of delivery and inform us at the earliest opportunity.
Incorrect Goods: It is your responsibility to notify us of any incorrect goods supplied and inform us at the earliest opportunity.

Product Guarantees
The following are guidelines. Wherever possible we will respond to your individual circumstances.

All products supplied are covered by the terms and conditions of the Manufacturer's Guarantee for a period of 12 months. This guarantee specifically excludes faults caused by accident, neglect, and misuse. In addition, routine maintenance (cleaning of dirty audio/video heads etc), consumables (styli, plug fuses, cables, batteries, etc), cosmetic damage and tuning of channels is not covered. THE FULL COST OF THE SERVICE CALL WILL BE CHARGED TO YOUR ACCOUNT IN THE EVENT OF AN UNJUSTIFIED CALL OUT. This does not affect any statutory rights that you may have.

Within the first 28 days the unit will be inspected for the fault described on your Fault Reporting Form and then either repaired or replaced within 28 days of delivery of goods to you the customer.

Product Guarantees - Plasma, TFT LCD Monitors and Televisions
TFT displays are made up of thousands of tiny pixels. For example, a 15" flat-screen with a resolution of 1024 x 768 has 786423 pixels. Each pixel comprises of three sub-pixels (red, green and blue) making almost 2.4 million dots. Behind each pixel is a transistor. When a transistor fails it manifests itself as a bright, dark or coloured dot on the screen that stands out from the rest. Today's production techniques unfortunately cannot guarantee an absolutely fault-free screen display and buyers should be aware of the possibility of imperfections (in the form of a few isolated constantly lit or unlit pixels) before choosing to purchase a TFT monitor, Plasma screen or LCD television. Due to this, the manufacturers have a commonly accepted 'tolerance level' by which a TFT monitor, Plasma screen or LCD television may display such imperfections (or stuck pixels) without being classified as faulty. Please check with the relevant manufacturer as to their 'tolerance level'.

Cancellation of Orders/Returned Goods
Cancellation of Orders/Returned Goods You can cancel your purchase at any time either before or up to 7 working days following the day you receive the goods by for credit or refund. You must inform us of your reasons for returning goods in writing within 7 working days following the day you receive the goods by. It is the customer’s responsibility to take reasonable care of the goods. Your product must be complete and in 'as new' condition e.g. if you have opened the box to examine the product you must have done so without damaging or marking the product or packaging. It must not have been used or installed. It should be returned with the original box, packing and accessories you received with it. Pre-recorded videotapes, DVDs, CDs, Cabinet stands, Wall/Speaker brackets, Cables, memory cards and software must still be sealed and in an unused condition. Any 'Free Gifts' received with the product must also be returned. You will be wholly responsible for the cost of return delivery and take responsible care and precautions when returning products to us to ensure the safe return of the goods. On receipt of the goods into our warehouse, the goods will be inspected by our warehouse/logistics department, after inspection if it is apparent that reasonable care of the equipment has not been taken or the product has been used or installed, we reserve the right to levy a surcharge from the amount of the refund agreed which could be up to 15% of the purchase price. In the event of any accessories or instructions are missing, the company reserves the right to charge for replacement of these items. Refunds will be issued within 28 days from receipt of goods into our warehouse. No goods will be accepted for return without a signed returns authorisation document.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: To assist in the return of goods, it is essential to keep hold of boxes and packaging for as long as possible.

We cannot cancel your purchase when:

  • there is a contract for services with the product and you have started using the services (this would include, e.g. a mobile phone
  • subscription, but not an extended warranty service agreement);
  • the seal has been broken on any videotapes, DVDs, CDs, minidiscs, memory cards, or software or games, or on any personal hygiene products such as shavers.
  • the goods were a special order to your specification.

Whilst the goods are in your possession, you must take reasonable care of them and not use them.

Other
You will own the goods once we have received your payment in full. We will issue you with an electronic invoice once we have despatched the goods to you. Failure by us to enforce any of these terms and conditions will not affect our right to enforce the rest of these terms and conditions.
